ABOUT DR. JUNG LEE-FRENCH
Dr. Jung Lee-French is a accomplished pianist and music director, with additional pursuits as an amateur painter and jewelry designer for Dotori Jewelry. Apart from these creative endeavors, Dr. Lee-French manages the Dr. Dotori Youtube Channel and holds the position of CEO at AcornTree Skincare USA. Holding a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) from Claremont Graduate University and an MM (Master of Music) in piano performance and pedagogy from California State University, Northridge (CSUN), Dr. Lee-French received a Pedagogy scholarship from the Music Teachers' Association of California (MTAC) in 1997 at CSUN, where instructional contributions were made as an assistant instructor in the pedagogy program.
Mentored by figures such as Dr. Borja Otero from Spain, Dr. Charles Fierro, Dr. Jeanine Jacobson at CSUN, Dr. Daniel Pollack at USC, and Dr. Hao Huang at CGU, Dr. Lee-French earned the prestigious Steinway Top Teacher Award in 2021, an honor reserved for exceptional piano teachers in North America.
In 1996, Dr. Lee-French's television performance in "An Endless Musical Journey" by Ornosky in Los Angeles featured a captivating blend of classical piano performance and an exhibition of impressionist oil paintings. With 15 years of experience as a church accompanist, Dr. Lee-French has made numerous concert appearances in South Korea and the United States. Recognition for contributions to music came in the form of awards from the Olympic chair at the 1986 Asian Games and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul. Active participation in the MTAC Orange Coast Cities Branch has been a consistent part of Dr. Lee-French's journey, maintaining a private studio in Laguna Beach since 1998 and imparting knowledge to many music major scholarship students.
Inspirations for Dr. Lee-French include pianist Andre Watts and inventor Thomas Edison, individuals admired for their creativity and perseverance.
